Jom pi Singapore

Boleh naik bas, naik train, naik flight, nak lebih adventure bawa la kereta, but we choose to travel via flight sebab ada promo tiket, tiket depart just RM25 seorang and tiket return mahal sikit, RM150 seorang. Don't worry pasal transport kat sana, or hotel ke. Cari je dalam website, hotel area Paya Lebar or Al-Juned or Geylang, sebab sini banyak halal food.

Cuma satu je yang saya kurang berkenan tentang MRT ni, after you purchase the ticket, you have to return the ticket kat machine untuk ambil balik deposit. Sebabnya, ticket tu they will recycle semula, jadi taklah berlaku pembaziran, but bagi traveller macam saya ni rasa leceh sikit sebab each time berhenti kat last station, we have to go to the machine, insert semula ticket then dapat le balik deposit dalam coin, SGD1 (1 singapore dollar=RM2.40)

So, these are the places:

1. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Kalau nak dapat best view, naik MRT sampai Raffles station, then jalan kaki la sikit ke bridge dekat dengan Merlion, the famous statue of Singapore tu

2. Esplanade

Espalande is a building for theater or musical show. Lokasinya pula sama macam Marina Bay Sands tadi, naik MRT sampai Raffle and then just walk along the bridge.

3. Merlion statue

4. Chinatown

Nak cari souvenir for friends and family? Chinatown is the paradise! Nak pergi sini, senang je, naik MRT stop at Chinatown.

5. Arab street

6. Little India

7. Orchard Road

To high end lovers, your shopping heaven terletak di Orchard Road. Naik MRT then stop at station Orchard atau Somerset. Kiri, kanan, sepanjang jalan name all the brands you want.  We pass through this Orchard Road ni sebenarnya untuk ke HRC

8. Hard Rock Cafe, Singapore

Those yang collecting, jangan lupa singgah.

Ada lagi few places lain yang kami visit, like statue Raffles, tapi itupun dalam sangkar juga sebab under renovation.

Bye!

ICSSH 2011 - IEEE Conference in Singapore

Salam..

If you read this entry, ada yang saya update berkenaan dengan seminar di Singapura ini. The most sempoi conference yang pernah saya attend..Hehe..Why sempoi? Because it's very flexi and high indexed conference but yet I manage to meet professors/researchers yang sangat arif dalam bidang masing-masing and also manage to build networking with participants yang bukan calang-calang orang. Terasa kerdil sungguh diri ini..hehe..and they are so humble. Bilalah nak capai macam tu iye??? *Berangan sat.

All papers included in the proceedings are indexed by IEEE. An institution with a high impact index. Maka, tak hairanlah banyak paper especially from UiTM submitted to the conference proceedings. Mula-mula sampai, I was a bit confused sebab rupanya ada dua seminar yang dianjurkan serentak by the same organizer, one is ICEFR (Economics and Financial Research) and another one is ICSSH (Social Science and Humanities). My turn to present is on Monday, morning session, pukul 9.00 pagi pula tu. I was the second presenter in the session, and during that time, about 20 participants/audience were in the room session. Due to time constraint (because there are 10 papers need to be presented within one session - 9.00am to 10.30am), hence, question and answer were conducted after presentation, during coffee break. Very simple. I like!!

The conference venue - Grand Mercury Roxy Hotel. Located at Marine Pd Road. Taken during registration day

The presentation day - the last day of seminar.

Half of the audience/participants during presentation

With Dr. Prema (from UKM & chairsession for the day), Dr. Er (from UKM) and Prof. Kamaruzaman aka Prof KJ (from UPM).

With Kak Yati - my colleague in UiTM Perak, we're in the same department but she's currently in study leave for her PhD

With the secretariat of the conference

Participant from Thailand ..if not mistaken Ms. Siriporn Panyametheekul

Habis seminar, so petangnya we head back to Changi Airport..Dah tak sabar nak balik wokk, rindu kat anak-anak gamaknya. Lucky for us sebab check-in di Terminal 1, and we heard Hard Rock Changi is in Terminal 3. Since it connected via Skytrain, so, we all pun spent time lama juga la dalam terminal Changi ni untuk look for last-minute items. Generally perfurmes, cosmetics, are cheaper dari price di Malaysia (after conversion). So, setelah melaksanakan cost comparison dan feasibility study (apa kena mengena pun kau jangan tanya), dapatlah perfume Pleasure and SKII treatment essence yang kecik aje 75ml. Not forgetting shotglass Kak Lila at Hard Rock Changi :)

So, thats all for the conference update. Entry yang seterusnya pula akan saya setory pasal interesting places in Singapore...wahhh feeling travel agent pula aku. Tapi, satu entry khas akan saya buat untuk Universal Studio Singapore sahaja..sebab....its truly AWESOME!!!!! Nantikan.. hehehe...but, tunggu la dua tiga minggu lagi...sekarang nak cerita, panas lagi bebeh..ambik gambar ni sebagai pemanas badan..

Bye!

Interesting places in London: Tips for visitors in a short trip

Panjangnya tajukkkk

By the way, good day everyone. Saya tiba-tiba terfikir untuk come out with this entry sebab ada a friend of my hubby hendak melancong ke London, and may spent a short trip there. To recall those places, we had to view back our pictures and write into a piece of paper. I know the technology is in your hujung finger already, but, I think it's not wrong to share it here right?. Sebenarnya, me and hubby went to London two years ago, so, if I want to classify this entry as an update, trip tu dah outdated. Saya ada juga load di facebook but I don't caption those places. So, in this entry, I may call this as a tip, especially for those yang akan ke London, with a short period time and a short budget as well, like us. Hehehe

We spent about 2 and 1/2 days di sana, and since budget is quite tight, so, we don't fancy so much those high branded stuff (walaupun dalam hati, geloranya sangat crazy wavy..kenapalah duit aku tak beranak waktu tu???). If you travel by low-cost flights, you will arrive at London Stansted Airport (north side from London) or London Gatwick (south side of London). We travel to London via Istanbul Gokcen airport, and we arrived at London Stansted. So, these are the list of places that we went in London:

1) MARBLE ARCH

This is quite near with our stay di sana. On the way to Bond Street, we stop at this station to have a picture here. There is a history behind this stunning arch. Jika berminat, boleh klik sini for more details.

The extracted route for underground. My tips - go and get an underground map.

2) BOND STREET

For shoppers, get ready to bump your ass here. Haha. Mostly, banyak high label/designers di sini. Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Miu Miu, Hermes, Bally, Anya Hindmarch, ooohhh oohh. Sounds kachinggggggg oredi. But, if you are in a tighter budget, you may shop at Primark (sangat muraaaahhh), Zara (may favourite!), Clarks, Gap, etc. These places is actually in between Marble Arch station and Bond Street station. So, better stop at Marble Arch, then jalan kaki la beb. Tak berpeluh de ketiak kau, sebab cuaca sejuk. Unless summer time, but still windy dan agak sejuk.

Primark (Bond Street)

3) OXFORD STREET

Sama juga macam Bond Street, just next to it. Loaded with high labels/designers shops and mall. Jalan-jalan saja. Tengok Jimmy Choo's handbag that cost 700 pounds, terus senak pankreas saya.

4) HARD ROCK CAFE (OLD PARK LANE)

A must visit shop for us. Bought few shirts, and not forgetting kiriman dari rakan-rakan.

5) HARRODS

Tak habis round pun, a big and exclusive mall. There's a section for a memory of late Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed in this mall. Tak lama spend di sini sebab Harrods buat poket saya herot.

5) BIG BEN

For places no. 5, 6 and 7, location dia dekat-dekat. Just in walking distance sahaja.

6) WESTMINSTER ABBEY

Opss sorry we don't have the picture. But must visit this place ok. The engagement ceremony of Prince William and Kate is in this building :)

The subway exit is Westminster Station

7) HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT

8) LONDON EYE

Just bergambar dari jauh je

9) NATIONAL GALLERY

National Gallery is situated behind Trafalgar Square. Ada ramai street performer kat sini. Jangan sesuka nak bergambar dengan diaorang tanpa memberi tips ok. Bukan tips berbentuk nasihat tu, tips berbentuk duit. D.U.I.T.

10) TRAFALGAR SQUARE
Piegons everywhere.

11) TOWER OF LONDON/ TOWER BRIDGE

Ada satu castle di sini, but I can't recall the name. It's hard to get a shot of two of us in one picture. Luckily, a typical Malaysian faces are here, so, we approach them and ask nicely to capture us together. Terima kasih my dear!

12) BUCKINGHAM PALACE

Istana Buckingham. Waktu we all sampai, askar-askar tu dah habis buat pertukaran ke apa namanya. Jangan meletakkan harapan tinggi untuk jumpa Prince William okay..haha

13) MADAME TUSSAUDS

With my ex bf..kehkehkeh

Exactly like real right? Mr Steven Spielberg, I nak berlakon juga..

Oh my...what a crowd!! We queu about 2 hours before we can exactly enter this wax museum. And it's huge, too many visitors, so if you like to take a picture with your fave 'celebs', jangan feeling nak posing dalam macam-macam gaya sebab ramai beb orang tunggu. Satu dua shot ok lah. Annnnddd, saya boleh terjumpa my best friend waktu sekolah dulu, Fahmi and his wife, Zaridah. What a small world..!

Met Fahmy :) - My bff waktu schoolmate sekolah rendah

14) PICCADILY CIRCUS

Dulu ada planet Hollywood, but bila we went there, rupanya dah takde. Mostly, banyak theater shows and cinemas di street area sini.

Ada lagi satu tempat tau yang we all tak sempat nak explore, but dah list dalam our plan, iaitu Camden Street. Souvenirs memang murah-murah kat sini.

OK, that's all places yang kami pergi and we travel to all those places via underground train. Itupun, hanya area W1 sahaja yang kami pergi and due to short time, we are not manage to enter museums, bridges and places lain yang melibatkan duit untuk masuk, except Madame Tussauds. Just been there, and KLIK KLIK for gambar. Bye-bye London..you are so tempting!
